Fortnite fans who are eagerly anticipating the arrival of snow to Fortnite may not have long to wait, as the first flurries of snow have began to fall on the spawn island.
The spawn island is a seperate area away from the game’s main island where combat takes place. This is where players wait before they hop into the Battle Bus and head off to take part in the intense battle royale that the game is famous for.
However, it seems that the spawn island will be the first place to feel the cold snap, as snowflakes have already began to fall on the island, although they don’t seem to be covering the ground as of yet.
The flakes were first spotted on Tuesday, December 4th by players waiting to get into a game of Fortnite, much to the surprise of those in the lobby.

At the time of writing, it seems like only a few flakes are falling every now and then, but it’s possible that the snowfall will get heavier as we approach the launch of Season 7 on Thursday, December 6.
It seems that Season 7 of the popular battle royale title will have a winter theme, with leaks indicating that the map may be covered in snow by the time Season 7 begins.
Epic Games then released the first of the Season 7 teasers, a large image with a white background that again indicated snow, alongside a small character on the right hand side using what appeared to be a pair of skis.

Players have also spotted a mysterious floating iceberg in the sea surrounding the island, which features a tower protruding from the top. While the tower was originally in darkness, lights appeared to switch on on Sunday, December 2 as it travels ever closer to the play area.
